Our First Event is Scheduled! August 12, 2025 from 6pm-8pm

A big part of what I was hoping to create with The Empowerment Project, was the ability to organize Community events and workshops to educate and support our local families here in Columbia County. I am thrilled to announce that our first event will be August 12th 2025, from 6pm-8pm. It is being hosted by The Spark of Hudson, a local Community hub that shares our vision and heart for Empowerment. I have invited two amazing leaders from Parent to Parent NYS to come to Hudson to present their workshop on creating an Educational Records Organizer Binder. I consider “The Binder” an essential tool to help caregivers stay organized so that they can properly advocate on behalf of their loved ones in order to make sure they are receiving the supports and services they need. Not wanting any barriers to participation, Parent to Parent NYS is supplying the binders as well as all the needed supplies for each attendee to leave with their very own Binder to start the new school year off right. Every Special Education caregiver knows that we have a lot of paperwork to organize and stay on top of and this binder workshop is just what is needed!
